The assassination attempt against the presidential pre-candidate Miguel Uribe in Colombia is just the most recent of crimes against democratic leaders of the Americas within the framework of 21st Century Socialism dictatorships attacks against democracy. To know who orders the killing of a defender of democracy or candidate, we only have to see who feels most threatened with the victims ascent to power. When everything points to the intellectual authors of those crimes but the investigations abruptly end with the hit-men or material authors, these attempts will continue as long as there are transnational organized crime’s dictatorships in the region.
In democracy there is competition to ascend to power, which is the reception of a mandate from the people in whom sovereignty rests, to govern subject to the rule of law for a determined length of time, and with the responsibility to be held accountable. When democracy is supplanted by dictatorship, the sovereignty of the people is usurped in order to concentrate all power in the regime, the rule of law is replaced by a state of defenselessness, power is indefinitely wielded, and State-terrorism is used to instill fear in the population, subject it, and have impunity for crimes committed daily.
The Americas, in this century, are subjected to attacks against democracy by 21st Century Socialism dictatorships. In the first 25 years of this century, that should have been of ample democracy in the Americas. it has become an area for the expansion of Cuba’s dictatorship, that was the only dictatorship in the region when -in the aftermath of Hugo Chavez’s ascent to power in Venezuela- it was rescued from its special period and received funding for the exportation of its criminal capabilities.
With Venezuela’s oil, along with Chavez and Maduro, with the funding capability and wealth of Brazil under Lula and his structure, with the control of Nicaragua, Bolivia, and Ecuador with Correa as dictatorships, with the Control of the Caribbean with bribes from Petrocaribe, 21st Century Socialism controlled the Organization of American States (OAS) with Insulza, and expanded to the point of consecrating Castro as the Latin American leader at the OAS summit in Panama that was the preamble to the reestablishment of relations of Cuba with the United States.
Twenty-First Century Socialism is the political costume of a Transnational Organized Crime group that is led by Cuba’s dictatorship that is also known as “Castrochavism” a neologism for Castro and Chavez. This organization intervenes everywhere in the Americas with “hybrid warfare” operations, it is involved in manipulating elections by counterfeiting results in its “vote-catching dictatorships,” it promotes, and finances candidates who -when they ascend to power- become “para-dictatorial governments” at the service of dictatorships such as; Mexico with Lopez Obrador/Sheinbaum, Brazil with Lula, Colombia with Petro, and Honduras with Xiomara Castro.
In this context, this century is branded by the acts of violence that have altered life in the Americas to favor insurgency, the establishment and sustainment of 21st Century Socialism dictatorships, and the weakening of democracy. Street violence, forcible migrations, narcotics trafficking, terrorism, coups d’etat, toppling of governments, use of organized crime against democratic stability, assassination of reputations, and the destruction of national values, attempts, assassinations, and more.
The attempted assassination of Miguel Uribe is preceded by similar attempts of assassination and toppling against Ecuador’s president Jamil Mahuad in 2000; the attempted assassination against Bolivia’s president Gonzalo Sanchez de Lozada in February of 2003 that was investigated and vouched by the Organization of American States (OAS), the toppling of president Sanchez de Lozada in October of 2003; the attempt against candidate Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil on 6 September of 2018 with sequels that continue to affect the health of today’s former president of Brazil; the attempted assassination with the fire at La Balbina and the failed coup d’etat against Ecuador’s president Lenin Moreno in October of 2019; the assassination on 7 July of 2021 of Jovenel Moise, president of Haiti; the 9 August of 2023 assassination of Fernando Villavicencio, favorite presidential candidate of Ecuador, the attempted assassination against candidate, and today president of the United States Donald Trump on 13 June of 2024. . .
I must reemphasize “21st Century Socialism kills.” It cannot be any other way because this is solely about the expansion of Cuba’s dictatorship that is at the helm and directs it by committing the most gruesome and atrocious crimes for the last 66 years. Its criminal compendium includes; executions by firing squads, political prisoners, exile, torture, narcotics’ trafficking, forcible migrations, establishment of guerrillas, the practice of international and State-terrorism, invasions, protection to worldwide terrorism, common crime, and much more.
The path toward more crime will continue to be tread. Miguel Uribe is the latest victim today, but he will not be the last as long as 21st Century Socialism dictatorships continue to operate their transnational organized crime organization with impunity.
