The revelations made by the Colombian television news program Noticias Caracol regarding the relationship between Gustavo Petro and his vice president, Francia Márquez, with the FARC are extremely serious. They also uncovered the extent of the terrorist group's infiltration of the Colombian Army, how they agreed to conduct business together, how they provided the FARC with information about operations, and how some generals were going to work with them long-term.
The other revelation is that the Prosecutor's Office had this information for over a year and did nothing about it. Or perhaps they did: they released many of those involved, as they are part of the so-called "total peace" agreement, and tried to bury a file containing all the information about the scandal. The question is, what else is the Prosecutor's Office hiding that, in the case of Colombia's most corrupt government, they are turning a blind eye? How are they manipulating cases, changing case files, or transferring prosecutors to delay or obstruct justice?
The case of Nicolás Petro, the President's son, with all the evidence, is a prime example of how this impunity operation works. In Álvaro Uribe's case, the entire judicial apparatus of the Prosecutor's Office was up and running within weeks. In Petro's son's case, we've been at it for almost three years and nothing has happened. The great legacy of Attorney General Luz Adriana Camargo will be the urgent need for a complete transformation of the Prosecutor's Office, from the selection of its head to its operation, its public accountability, and meticulous, swift, and specialized oversight of its officials, in order to end this delay and these kinds of maneuvers that are currently used to conceal the appalling corruption in this government.
These documents clearly show that FARC-politics exists within Petro's government. They call it total peace, but it doesn't end there. There's also ELN-politics, including territory, as in the Catatumbo region, and narco-politics, with a pseudo-amnesty law in Congress and the release of leaders from prison to attend Petro events in order to demonstrate his power. And then there's paramilitary-politics, which is also present in this government with the appointment of almost all paramilitary leaders as peace facilitators.
Why are we surprised? This government has done everything right in front of the public. It brings controversial retired generals into positions of special importance with one objective: they do my work. In this case, we already see what that work entails with the FARC. With the ELN, it's expanding territorial control, and with the drug traffickers, it's impunity and better conditions for their business. In exchange for what? Victory in 2026. Petro knows that Iván Cepeda, or his plan B, has between 20 and 30 percent of the vote; the rest can be bought or obtained through pressure. That's the political operation that will take place in the next elections. Is that clear?
The final element is missing: destroying the opposition, by hook or by crook. This already began with the assassination of Miguel Uribe, which was neither a coincidence nor motivated by anything other than removing a candidate who could have destroyed this whole setup they've been building for three years. This operation doesn't end here.
Petro's paramilitary-political tactics have one objective: to attack right-wing candidates with all sorts of statements from paramilitary groups during the elections. These "peace brokers" have a single job: to discredit the opposition by any means necessary in the coming months. And one more favor: to use what little remains of their structures to garner support for Petro's candidate. Every vote counts.
Do you think the UIAF's secret visit to the mobster 'Papa Smurf' in Spain was for anything good? Obviously not. Give me all the information you have on the politicians he's worked with, because I'm going to extort them into using their political structures to work for my candidate in the presidential elections. That's the objective of that meeting and others with all sorts of mobsters, the people in Petro's inner circle.
Does it seem normal to you that the head of Strategic Intelligence at the DNI (National Intelligence Directorate) is someone who went from being an agent to director in just eight months? And a graduate in physical education, too—excuse me, those who studied that field and practice it properly. No, this agency is at the service of a president who will do anything to maintain power.
Business leaders continue to believe that the 2026 elections will be normal. Opposition candidates think they can win if they make it to the second round against Cepeda or whomever Petro endorses, since Plan B must be discarded. Frankly, I don't understand this shortsightedness. If, after what just happened, they don't realize the machinery Petro is setting up from within the government to stay in power, even through a proxy, then "call it a day." Which is precisely what they want: for the exodus of business leaders who support freedom and democracy to begin so they can extend the tentacles of their mafia-like power into every sector of the economy.
I don't know how else to say it. I don't know how else to warn people. I've been showing this same scenario for almost two years, and every day the facts prove me right. What's left? The streets, the citizens, who, frankly, have also fallen asleep. The outlook is bleak. And little by little, it's getting darker.
