Carol Prunhuber is a writer and journalist born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1956. He studied literature in Caracas and holds a PhD in Hispanic American Studies from the University of Paris. Carol began writing for Spanish-speaking newspapers, and then worked as a press attaché with prominent diplomats and politicians in Madrid. He was a foreign correspondent for the National (Caracas) in Madrid in the years 80.
His book Blood and Asphalt: 135 days in the streets of Venezuela, published by Kalathos Editorial, is an important document that captures what happened in each of the 135 days of protests that shook Venezuela in the year 2017. It is a truthful, enlightening document, a testimony.
